Hello, dears! I can’t believe another week has flown by. This has been a rough one for me so I thought this would be the perfect inspiration for the weekend. I actually got the idea from something my good friend mentioned. We were texting and she said: Ok baby’s asleep, time for self-care. I was intrigued.
What she does is simple: once a week (usually on the weekend) she sets aside time for herself. She does a mask, fixes her hair and reads a book for fun.
The truth is that we get so caught up in doing things for others, that we rarely make time to take care of ourselves. Especially as moms (this friend has an infant) we barely get a chance to grab a shower, let alone splurge on a face mask. I remember after my kids were born it felt like a luxury to take out my contacts and brush my teeth. Time to wash my face? Pffft dream on!
Taking time out for yourself is hard. It’s something that we aren’t going to have time for unless we are intentional about it.
So this weekend I’m going to come up with a plan. Talk to my husband. Maybe buy some new bubble bath. Establish my self-care routine.
