Sunflower Fields in Maryland

I had never known how awesome sunflower fields could be until I moved to Maryland. Growing up, we always had a tradition of taking photos with the Texas Bluebonnets and I wanted to do something special like that with my kids. We have visited two of the locations in the two years that we’ve lived up here. I look forward to checking out more!

Some of these locations are just large fields (like Clear Meadow) that don’t charge but also don’t allow picking. The big fields are great for stunning photos and are predictably crowded. We also really enjoyed The Sunflower Garden. It’s a nice little flower farm that offers pick-your-own and bouquets.

The time to look for sunflower blooms is around mid-July through the first part of September. Most places update their websites or social media with the bloom status.
