Play with Physics and Olympic Sport
Physics play a big part in skiing and snowboarding (and other sports too!) Learn more about the physics of the Winter Olympics.
This is was one of the most fascinating things that we’ve done for me because my knowledge of physics is, well, let’s say limited. Click on the YouTube playlist below and you’ll see a variety of videos about the role physics play in various sports. Did you know that ski jumpers put their skis in a V-shape to help maximize lift? How about curling? A sport that seems so strange and simple is actually a complex network of opposing forces. (I might be experimenting with a miniature curling demo.)
We’ve done some work with simple machines before, but I think we will definitely get more involved tinkering with physics later this year.
